Canada: Letter of solidarity to the striking miners of the Raglan Nickel and Copper Mine in Nunavik/Province of Quebec

Dear colleagues,

We have heard that you have been on strike since 7 June. You are waging a courageous struggle for your wages, workers' rights, your lives, your dignity and your health. You have our fullest solidarity in your strike. The burden of the global economic and financial crisis and the increased threat of world war, exacerbated by the Corona crisis, is to be passed on to us. You are leading your struggle against one of the biggest mining monopolies in the world, which are partly responsible for this situation. We miners stand with you internationally and you have our support!

At the 2nd International Miners' Conference in February 2017 in Ramagundam/India, we decided on a common International Struggle Programme. It says: ".... that we miners, together with our families, must cooperate internationally and coordinate our struggles if we are to become a superior force to the international mining monopolies and their governments." Your struggle joins this vividly. We wish you perseverance and strength!

We are currently preparing the 3rd International Miners' Conference, which will take place in Thuringia/Germany in 2023. We cordially invite you to join us. We would be very happy if you participate in the preparation and come to the conference to report about your struggle experiences, because they are an important part of the worldwide miners' movement and the common consciousness, everybody will be able to learn from them. That is why it is also important that you become part of the International Miners' Coordination, join the International Miners' Coordination. The workers have to stick together internationally. When the more than 20 million miners of the world stomp on the ground, the world will be shaken.

We have spread the word about your situation and your struggle among miners worldwide. Please keep us informed of the progress of your struggle so that the miners of the world are informed. Please let us know how we can continue to support you.

With militant and solidarity greetings

Andreas Tadysiak, Chief Coordinator of the International Miners' Coordination
