Letter of solidarity to the striking miners of El Cerrejon in Colombia

Dear colleagues, we have heard that you have been on strike since Monday. Despite the Corona crisis, you are leading a courageous struggle for your workers' rights, life, dignity and health. You have our fullest solidarity in your strike. We international miners stand by your side and wish your struggle every success! At the 2nd International Miners' Conference in Ramagundam/India in February 2017 we decided on an International Program of Struggle.

It says: "... that we miners, together with our families, must cooperate internationally and coordinate our struggles if we want to become a superior force against the international mining monopolies and their governments. Your struggle is alive in this respect. Stay persistent and strong! We are currently preparing the 3rd International Miners' Conference, which is to take place in Germany in 2022. We cordially invite you to report on your experiences of struggle, because they are part of the worldwide miners' movement and the common consciousness, everyone will be able to learn from them. Therefore I ask you to join the International Coordination of Miners. The workers must stand together internationally. United we are an invincible force. We will make your situation and your struggle known among the miners worldwide. Please inform us about the further course of your struggle, so that the miners of the world know what is happening and can continue to support you. Please let us know how we can continue to support you. With fighting and solidary greetings on behalf of the ICG Andreas Tadysiak, Main Coordinator of the International Miners' Coordination
