Dear striking miners in Ukraine, we have heard about your courageous strike since 3 September and we want to express our full solidarity with your struggle! It is exactly right to make demands for higher wages and better health protection and to fight for them with determination. While workers around the world are currently being told that they will have to accept losses and redundancies due to the corona pandemic, we know that crises are inherent in capitalism, as is the current world economic crisis.

The corona pandemic makes it even worse. It can never be in the interest of the workers to cut back for the profit of the capitalists - because their only interest is to continue to exploit us. This is evident in your mines, when 30 year old equipment endangers your health. Your important strike is in line with workers' struggles worldwide, whether in the automobile and steel industries or other miners' struggles like in Colombia. The ICOR stands for the international union of revolutionaries worldwide and for the struggle for socialism in which the workers have the power.
