Hello miners' wives, miners and families, We miners' wives in the Courage women's association have learnt of the protest by miners and their families against the non-payment of wages.Dear women miners and miners' wives, We are on your side and it is unacceptable that you have to support your families without wages or with delayed or reduced payments. We have seen pictures of you demonstrating in the bitter cold for your wages in the knowledge that your families will not have the money for housing, food, gas and electricity, food and much more. At the same time, the electricity is being cut off in this cold because the mining company is not making any payments.

It is unacceptable that our men and sons are risking their lives under life-threatening health and working conditions and then have to beg the mining company for a wage that is already far too low. That is not acceptable!

You have our fullest solidarity for your struggle and we are with you wholeheartedly. We will spread the word about your courage and determination to fight to victory among our mining families and neighbours.

The mining company, the RAG Foundation, is leaving us with a scorched earth policy. This concerns the constantly rising cost of housing, the lack of jobs for our children, the cancellation and reduction of widows' pensions and the poisoning of our drinking water. Decades ago, toxic substances were dumped into the mines, and now the flooding of the mines is poisoning our entire region.

The miners' wives look forward to hearing from you and getting to know your lives, what moves you and what your wishes for the future are. Please let us know how we can support you.
