The environmental resolution of the ICG and IMC as a call for the international day of environmental action

Miners rise up against the global environmental catastrophe that has begun! The survival of humanity is being threatened by the capitalist profit economy! Day by day we miners extract earth’s wealth from nature, which is unashamedly being appropriated by the international mining corporations. In future mining will be needed, too, but: Raw materials need to be extracted environmentally appropriately and must not be wasted.

We demand environmentally sound mining and comprehensive recycling of raw materials. Combustion of fossil raw materials must be ended immediately. When we ascertain that the global environmental catastrophe has already begun, then we say: We will take up the fight with determination right now. When today capitalism with its exacerbated rivalry only functions based upon the destruction of the international foundations of human life, we declare war on it as a system in its entirety! When today mining monopolies and governments internationally enforce the destructive exploitation of humanity and nature, we consolidate the international unification, strengthen the International Miners’ Coordination, and the unification with additional social and environmental movements. Likewise poverty drives people to more and more expansive mining of mineral resources – that is why we fight for the unity of solving the social and environmental question. Let’s concentrate our forces, let’s turn the international environmental day of struggle into a day of struggle of the entire miners’ movement. As international miners movement it is our task to build consciousness about the global environmental catastrophe that has begun, take the lead of the struggle for comprehensive and immediate measures of protection without promoting illusions in fundamental possibilities of implementation within this system. We wage these struggles as school and component part of the society-changing struggle. That necessitates a paradigm shift towards a society free from exploitation of humanity and nature. That’s a truly revolutionary task.

The fight for a life in dignity needs to be waged right now, or else it will be too late!

Long live the international miners movement. Long live the coordination of struggles.
