To the miners in Poland /Upper Silesia

Hello mates and your family, I, have heard about your fight against the planned mine closures and you have my fullest solidarity. As a former hard coal miner in Germany at the age of about 35, I am familiar with a wide range of promises made by the government and management. At the moment miners in Germany who have been dismissed for operational reasons are fighting for their jobs at the RAG/RAG Foundation.

In 1997 the miners were promised by the management and the government that no miner employed by RAG or any other company in the coal industry would "fall into the minefree zone". You have my fullest solidarity and are assured of my support. Also in my function as the main coordinator of the international miners coordination and, I see myself in the responsibility to organise the solidarity and support with you and to make your struggle known internationally. It is right and courageous of you to lead the struggle for your future. In times when the burden of the crisis, the world economic and financial crisis and the corona pandemic are being shifted onto the backs of the workers and their families. The principle of our miners coordination is that we miners and our families cooperate internationally and coordinate our struggles if we want to become a superior force against the international mining monopolies and their governments. At our founding conference in 2013 in Arequiepa, Peru, we stated: "Today it is less and less possible to stand up against the international mining monopolies in isolation from each other and locally limited. What we need is the unity of workers worldwide". We have nothing to expect from the right-wing governments and their lying promises - we have to take care of ourselves! I invite you to take part and help prepare for the 3rd International Miners' Conference 2022 in Germany. Join our international miners coordination! We will make your situation and your struggle known internationally on our homepage. Good luck in your strike! With combative and solidary greetings and Glück auf (German miners' greeting)! Andreas Tadysiak Main Coordinator of the International Miners' Coordination
