Take to the streets on May Day - against the threat of World War 3, against fascism and against the global environmental catastrophe that has begun!

The 3rd International Miners' Conference 2023 in Germany passed groundbreaking resolutions:
No struggle must stand alone anymore! Transnational solidarity, coordination and cooperation are the order of the day!

In the diverse discussions of the participants, the global situation and its impact on miners and their families became clear: the greedy hunger of the international mining monopolies such as those from the USA, China, India and the EU and the fierce capitalist competition for raw materials, cheap labor and markets does not only mean economic warfare, but also intensified exploitation and oppression of miners. "This also includes the militarization of entire mining regions, as well as the criminalization, kidnapping and murder of trade unionists. A third of the 50 million miners are women, mostly in the growing informal mining industry, which does not stop at the exploitation of children. Wages are not sufficient, especially in view of the horrendous inflation. Work safety is being cut back... . The expansion of open-cast mining in particular is destroying nature and driving people out of their traditional habitat. This capitalist and imperialist rule, supported by state policy, does lead at least to armed conflicts with endless suffering and to a global environmental catastrophe with the danger of destroying the natural foundations of human life.".
(Excerpt from the final declaration of the 3rd IMC)

The danger of a worldwide war is increasing dramatically:
* Over 30000 dead in the Gaza Strip, half a million threatened by starvation!
* Hundreds of thousands die in Ukraine; the livelihood of the people in the country is destroyed.
* USA and China exacerbate the situation in the South China Sea
* Imperialist Russia and NATO continue to arm themselves.

"Bring them home!" demand wives and mothers of Russian soldiers as well as women and girls in Ukraine. Tens of thousands of people are demonstrating against the Netanyahu government in Israel and port workers in Italy and Greece are protesting against the transportation of war material for the war in Ukraine and Gaza.
The international miners' movement must take the lead in the struggle for world peace and against the global environmental catastrophe that has begun, in close alliance with the peace, women's, youth and environmental movements. Because wars destroy the environment and environmental destruction creates new threats of war.

With the decision to form an anti-imperialist platform of the miners within the international miners' coordination, the conference created the possibility for members of the miners' coordination to join the anti-imperialist and anti-fascist 'United Front' as a strong force of the workers.

Take an active part in demonstrations, strikes and actions on May Day, the international workers' day of struggle!
Let us take responsibility for each other and for social progress for ourselves, our children and the whole of humanity!

Good Luck!Andreas Tadysiak

Chief Coordinator of the International Miner’s Coordination
