Yes, indeed this tragedy occurred. Not two, but three miners died. The tragedy took place at the Mysłowice-Wesoła coal mine, located directly in the vicinity of Katowice, in Silesia - it happened at 3:29AM on 14 May. There was a bump, the tremor occurred 665 metres underground. Fifteen people were in the affected area, eleven were withdrawn.
A rescue operation was underway to reach four workers who had not been contacted. Three workers were successfully reached and transported. Unfortunately, in two cases the doctor pronounced them dead. A day later, the final third was found, who also tragically died.
This is the second fatal accident at the Mysłowice-Wesoła coal mine in 2024. On 17 April, one miner died as a result of a tremor and eight were injured.
The deceased miners were aged 32, 35 and 43. Each of them was orphaned a family and children.
As far as the address for sending expressions of solidarity is concerned, I think that simply the e-mail address of the miners trade unions that have their cell in this mine would be good (I gave you the addresses directly to the cells in the mine).
