Greetings from miners and their organisations at Saturday's protest meeting in Gelsenkirchen

From Ukraine we received the greeting message of the miners' union "Defense of Labor". They write: "With pleasure we learned that the Miners' Initiative is organizing a solemn unveiling of the monument commemorating the great strike of miners in Germany in 1997. The miners' strike in Germany in 1997 gave us all an example of a bright and heroic struggle of the working class against the anti-people plans of the bourgeois government in Germany.

From Belarus we received very warm greetings from the miners' wives and their families: They write: On December 2, miners at the Soligiorsk potash mine went on an underground strike. A miner, mine excavator operator joined the strike and addressed people in all countries of the world with a video: in the situation that has arisen in my country - total collapse of the legal system, terror - I simply have no choice. All of us can no longer bear the lies and hypocrisy. ... Courage and determination are great, but Lukashenko clings to his power with brutal violence and fascist methods. Solidarity is important!

From Russia, Darya Prilenskaya writes: Our Marxist Workers' Association from Tyumen is looking forward to the festive unveiling of a monument.

Also from Russia from Saint Petersburg, Yevgeny, Kirill, Ilya and Dmitry from the group Fakel wrote: "Your initiative for the unveiling of the miners' monument is a great thing, because there is nothing more valuable than human labor. Labor is more valuable than bitcoins, euros and dollars. The monument to the miners is a monument to the people who do a job at great risk to their lives! ... Solidarity is a great thing! Long live solidarity!

From Morocco, Fathi, a member of the International Miners Coordination Group and Adib from the Moroccan Miners Movement wrote: "A warm militant greeting from your fellow Moroccan miners. .... The monument affirms the unity of the miners' struggle throughout the world. ... Finally, the monument will immortalize the struggle of the German miners against the exploiting class. This monument will commemorate in 2021 the 150th anniversary of the first worldwide proletarian revolution - the Paris Commune in 1871. ... Finally, the Moroccan miners wish the German miners and all miners around the world good memories of the 1997 strike and the memory of the Paris Commune.

From Peru, Fredy, a member of the International Miners Coordination Group, wrote: "I will always be with my fellow miners, the struggle continues! Today I want to express my solidarity with all the miners of the world who are fighting day after day for a better future for their families and their country!"
