Protest statement regarding the refusal to grant Tobias Thylmann entry to Georgia. Dear Mr Kobakhidze and Mr Wadephul. I am writing to you today on behalf of the International Miners' Coordination Group (ICG): On 13 December 2025, Tobias Thylmann was denied entry to Georgia without any explanation. He is a member of a German delegation that wants to attend the court proceedings in Kutaisi.

Hello, we are Divine and Eugene from Congo and Julian from Germany. We are here representing the International Miners' Coordination. We would like to extend warm greetings from the International Miners' Coordination and its main coordinator, Andreas Tadysiak, to all participants of this conference. When asked how we could support miners in Ukraine, a trade union colleague wrote to us:
Many proletarian thanks for your offer to help our miners' union. We have not received any wages for nine months. We are facing a hard, cold winter, which we will probably spend without electricity, as it is not certain whether our town will still have a power station by winter. Since the beginning of September, Russian missiles have been trying to hit power stations that supply towns with heat and electricity.

Recklinghausen: Solidarity with the four miners and strike leaders imprisoned in Chiatura, Georgia

At the rally for International Environment Day on 15 November 2025 in Recklinghausen, Kumpel für AUF Im Vest organised a solidarity campaign (see photo in the appendix). Merab Saralidzes and three other miners have been imprisoned since April on unjustified charges. The aim is to support the struggle of miners and the population of Chiatura to preserve jobs in underground mining and against extremely environmentally damaging open-cast mining. The rally participants adopted the following protest statement:

I would like to inform you that since 27 September 2025, there have been a series of protests in Morocco led by Generation Z 212, i.e. young people who were born in a time of crisis and upheaval. They have taken to the streets of major cities such as Rabat, Casablanca, Fez, Tangier, Marrakesh, Agadir... as well as marginalised cities in the interior of the country such as Oujda and Jerada.

Dear Merab, dear friends and colleagues, We have received and read the appeal to the miners from friends. It testifies to the courage, determination and integrity of the Chiatura miners in their struggle. This appeal also applies to miners around the world, and we should take it to heart and learn from each other. The delaying tactics and procrastination on the part of Georgia Manganese, the government and the courts are unacceptable, and you are absolutely right to criticise this.
